9-Day Incredible Safari + Cultural Experience West Kilimanjaro, Tarangire, Manyara, Serengeti, Ngorongoro

On arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) or Arusha Airport (ARK) which caters for domestic flights, you will be met by African Big Cats Safaris representative who will drive you to your accommodation in Arusha. Overnight will be at your accommodation awaiting for your safari on the following day.

Early morning after breakfast you will be picked up by your private safari guide and head to Sinya in the western Kilimanjaro. A private concession of about 600 square km, bordering Kenya at Amboseli National Park, offers spectacular landscapes with magnificent views of Mount Kilimanjaro, Mount Meru, Ol Doinyo Longido, and Ol Doinyo Orok, unique nature and cultural experience. Maasai “bomas” are sparsely scattered in Sinya, with a total population of no more than 2.000 people living in a huge area. These Maasai are still living the traditional way and are not used to the commercial relationship with tourists which is common in more visited areas. They are spectacularly dressed and follow all the traditional ceremonies. This is a Community Conservation Project benefiting the Maasai of Sinya. Activities include game drives, walking safaris escorted by Maasai warriors, interaction with the local Maasai including participation in ceremonies if available.

You will be picked up by your private safari guide from western Kilimanjaro to Tarangire. The Park is named after the Tarangire River which runs through it. This ‘river of warthogs’ is the only source of water for wildlife in the region during the dry season. In places, the vegetation is quite dense, including elephant grass, acacia woodlands, and lush groundwater forest. The Park is well known for its elephant families, which can often be seen congregating by the river. You may also see giraffe, bushbuck, and hartebeest. These animals are closely followed by a range of predators, including lions and leopards. There are more breeding species of birds found in Tarangire National Park than anywhere else on the planet! After an extensive game drive in the park, you will head to your accommodation for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, you will drive to Lake Manyara National Park. This is a relatively small but diverse park, 120km west of Arusha. The park’s namesake is a shallow, salt lake. It covers a large area of the park, flooding and drying with the seasons, and is home to thousands of flamingos and over 500 other bird species. On your exploration of the park, you will see monkeys, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, buffalo, elephant, and with some luck, lions lounging in the trees. The park is known for its diverse landscapes; not only open grassy plains but also primate-filled woodlands and baobab dotted cliffs.

After lunch and an extensive game drive, you will drive to your accommodation for dinner & overnight

Early morning after breakfast, you will prepare for your transfer to Arusha which marks the end of your epic trip with African Big Cats Safaris.
