Day 2&3: Arusha to Sinya (Western Kilimanjaro)

Early morning after breakfast your private safari guide will pick you up and head to Sinya in the western Kilimanjaro. A private concession of about 600 square km, bordering Kenya at Amboseli National Park, offers spectacular landscapes with magnificent views of Mount Kilimanjaro, Mount Meru, Ol Doinyo Longido, and Ol Doinyo Orok, unique nature and cultural experience.

It is particularly compelling that Maasai “bomas” are sparsely scattered in Sinya, with a total population of no more than 2.000 people living in a huge area. Furthermore, these Maasai are still living the traditional way and are not used to the commercial relationship with tourists which is common in more visited areas. They are spectacularly dressed and follow all the traditional ceremonies. This is a Community Conservation Project benefiting the Maasai of Sinya.

Activities include game drives, walking safaris escorted by Maasai warriors, and also interaction with the local Maasai including participation in ceremonies if available.
You will spend 2 days in this incredible place.

Day 4: West Kilimanjaro to Tarangire National Park

Your private safari guide will pick you up from western Kilimanjaro to Tarangire. The Park got its name after the Tarangire River which runs through it. This ‘river of warthogs’ is the only source of water for wildlife in the region during the dry season. In places, the vegetation is quite dense, including elephant grass, acacia woodlands, and also lush groundwater forest.

The Park is particularly famous for its elephant families, which you can often see congregating by the river. Furthermore, you may see giraffe, bushbuck, and hartebeest. These animals are closely followed by a range of predators, including lions and leopards.

Especially engaging is that there are more breeding species of birds found in Tarangire National Park than anywhere else on the planet!

After an extensive game drive in the park, you will head to your accommodation for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Lake Manyara National Park

After breakfast, you will drive to Lake Manyara National Park. This is a relatively small but diverse park, 120km west of Arusha. The park’s namesake is a shallow, salt lake. Moreover it covers a large area of the park, flooding and drying with the seasons, and is home to thousands of flamingos and over 500 other bird species.

On your exploration of the park, you will also see monkeys, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, buffalo, elephant, and with some luck, lions lounging in the trees. Additionally, the park is known for its diverse landscapes; not only open grassy plains but also primate-filled woodlands and baobab dotted cliffs.

After lunch and an extensive game drive, you will drive to your accommodation for dinner & overnight

Along the way, we’ll pass through the mist-shrouded rainforests of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area where you might be lucky enough to see baboons or even leopards and elephants in the dense undergrowth. Undoubtedly while passing through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, you will be able to see the breath-taking Ngorongoro Crater before traveling onwards to the Serengeti National Park, which you will reach by midday.

The Serengeti National Park is the largest in Tanzania with diverse landscapes and habitats, such as grassy plains, swamps, lakes, savannah, and also mountains.

After an extensive game drive, you will drive to your accommodation where you will enjoy dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 7: Serengeti National Park

No doubt that Serengeti National Park is the best-known wildlife sanctuary in the world, unequaled for its natural beauty and scientific value, it has the greatest concentration of plains game in Africa. But it is the migration for which Serengeti is perhaps most famous.

Over a million wildebeest and about 200,000 zebras flow south from the northern hills to the southern plains for the short rains every October and November, and then swirl west and north after the long rains in April, May and June. So strong is the ancient instinct to move that no drought, gorge, or crocodile infested river can hold them back.

Unquestionably the Serengeti is truly home to the legendary Great Wildebeest Migration. The Serengeti National Park is where safari-goers come to genuinely experience an African safari. Late afternoon you arrive at your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 8: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast, drive out of the Serengeti and on to Ngorongoro Crater for game viewing drive. This is a good day to look for the big “5”, Lion, Leopard, Rhino, Buffalo and Elephant.

The Ngorongoro Crater is one of Africa’s most famous sites and is said to have the highest density of wildlife in Africa. Sometimes described as an ‘eighth wonder of the world’, the Crater has achieved world renown, attracting an ever-increasing number of visitors each year. You are unlikely to escape other vehicles here, but you are guaranteed great wildlife viewing in a genuinely mind-blowing environment.

There is nowhere else in Africa quite like Ngorongoro! One of the best places in the country to see the endangered black rhinoceros, the park is home to the entirety of the big five and is a specifically good place to see lions and cape buffalo year-round. A packed lunch will be served at a picnic site.

After game drive, we head straight to your accommodation for dinner and overnight.
